Your phone vibrates, it may be a text, or it may be a call. Regardless,
you look at who is contacting you, and you let out a sigh.
There is only one reason they are contacting you…they want a
favor.
You are a nice person, so obviously you aren’t going to
ignore them. And they are nice too.
But it just seems that every time they contact you, they
want something.
Never messaging just to say “How are you?” or “What’s new?”
or even a simple “Hi?”
But as usual, they’ll now start off with the small talk, the
stuff you’d like from them more often, if they want to ask for favors.
In your mind, you are just saying “Cut the small talk, and
get to what you really want from me”, because you know it’s coming, and just
want to get it over with.
So think about it: Are you a user, who calls others just for
favors, and not any other time. Or are you the used, constantly getting calls,
just when they need something from you.
If you are a user: STOP DOING IT. Message people more often,
and then when you need the favors, they’ll be a lot more likely to happily do
it.
If you are the used: then you sympathize with me here, and
help spread the word to the users, that they should just change their methods,
and people may start liking them more.
And just remember, as I’ve said before, I never repeat
myself.
I get used. It's annoying. To the point that sometimes I answer my phone "What do you want?". Sometimes not.
ReplyDeleteThere are certain people who call me only for favors. And it is never just one thing. It is one favor which somehow morphs into 20 more. They may be a nice person and I may like them, but I don't like when people take advantage of me.
Last line: funny.
Exactly! It has got to stop.
DeleteThe shame is, this is an Anonymous blog...so it can't be directed at the appropriate people!
In regards to the last line: I tried to keep it lite.
So I take it you are 'used' too? My sympathies.
ReplyDelete:) How do you come up with them?
Talent.
